Cycle for Cransley 2020 has been postponed due to the coronavirus and will be back on 13th June 2021!

With exhilarating and picturesque routes through the rolling Northampton countryside, this incredible cycling challenge offers something for all ages and abilities.

The ‘Cransley Family-Fun Spin’ is back, at a maximum of 10-miles, the ‘Cransley Cruise’ at a manageable 25-miles, the challenging ‘Fun-Filled Fifty’ (at 50-miles!) and for the elite amongst us, the thrilling ‘Cransley Fondo,’ a 63-mile (100km) extravaganza… what’s more, BRAND NEW for 2021, there will be knuckle-biting off-road route for the mountain bike fans, at up to 30-miles! All routes include a fabulous Cycle for Cransley medal for every finisher!

All rides will begin from the ‘Kettering Rugby Club’. Make sure you stay take the time to soak up the atmosphere in the new and improved Event Village following your ride! Thanks to generous support from our Headline sponsors ‘Tollers Solicitors’ and KLM Taxis the event will be bigger and better than ever before.

Local artist, Susan Williams, will be showcasing her Ribbon Art Installation on the gardens opposite the Council offices, by St Peter and St Paul’s church and the Manor House Museum.

The installation will be on display from this Friday 28th – Sunday 30th August.

Susan Williams MRSS studied at Kingston University and the Royal Academy, London and was an Award Winner to the Royal Society of Sculptors. She has exhibited widely in the UK and also internationally, including exhibiting in USA, Spain, Iceland, Germany and Korea.

The ribbon installation is based on a rainbow theme and links to the pandemic in a variety of ways. The ribbons flutter in the wind suggesting the sudden appearance of a stream of butterflies, reflecting the idea of people emerging from their cocoons after lockdown. From other views the work captures and reflects light in different ways including that of glowing candles. The ribbons also close up when wet emulating some varieties of flower, almost responding to atmospheric conditions. There are other references also. You can cycle solo, as a family or socially distanced with a friend! Set your own Cycling Challenge and support Cransley Hospice Trust.

Choose your distance, 10 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles or 63 miles (100km). Routes start from Kettering Rugby Club.

Teams from Cransley Hospice Trust and Kettering Rugby Football Club are coming together in an attempt to lift a Million Kilograms in one day and they would love for you to join in and help them achieve it!

What do you have to do? It’s FREE to register and anyone can join in, whether you’re lifting weights, dumbbell’s, cans of baked beans or even your dog! YOU will need to email your total weight lifted during the day and the cumulative totals will be given out at intervals, with the final total announced at the end of the day.

Where can you do it? Kettering Rugby Club or from your own home!

Born to Perform, dance, Northamptonshire Sport, Online, reopening

Born to Perform online sessions start with a warm welcome and introduction to the tutors including a fun and informal ice-breaker involving participants. Tutors will then give an overview of the structure to the session to follow and desired outcomes. There will be a motivating group warm up carried out to age relevant, stimulating music.

Followed by step by step choreography with adaptations for all abilities for beginner up to advanced level dancers. The choreography will be recapped and added to at each session until a whole dance routine is complete and ready to be performed. We can then record the routine as proof of this amazing achievement!
