Getting Here

Kettering’s great central location makes it the ideal place for a day out or a short break, by road or rail – it is within an hour’s drive of London, Birmingham, Oxford and Cambridge city centre – making it the perfect base for exploring the heart of the country. By Road :

From M1 northbound – leave at junction 15 –
A45 to Northampton, A43 to Kettering
From M1 southbound – leave at junction 19 – A14 to Kettering
From A1 northbound, A14 (M1/A1 Link Road) to Kettering
From A1 southbound, A43 from Stamford to Kettering

Road
By Train:

Kettering Train Station serviced by East Midlands Trains. Kettering is just one hour’s commute to central London (St Pancras International) and has direct connections to Bedford, Luton, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Leeds and Wellingborough.

By Bus :

One of the main bus routes into Kettering is served by the X4 (Operated by stagecoach), this operates between Peterborough through to Milton Keynes via Wellingborough and Corby. Buses typically run every hour and run from around 06:00 to 22:00 daily (with a reduced service Sundays).
The other main bus route is Route 50 (Operated by stagecoach), this runs between Bedford and Kettering via Burton Latimer and Rushden. Buses typically run every hour and run from around 07:00 to 18:00 daily (with a reduced service Sundays).
Once in Kettering you could take the 19 bus (Operated by stagecoach) which operates between Rothwell and Desborough (and once an hour to Corby). Buses typically run every 20 minutes during the day and every hour in the evening from around 06:00 to 22:00 daily (with a reduced service Sundays). This is a great chance to take in the sights of Rothwell and Desborough on your visit and journeys only take around 20 minutes.
You can ask the driver for a Stagecoach Gold which costs around £9 for the days travel which covers travel within Northamptonshire, or Stagecoach Platinum for around £12 which will cover you to Milton Keynes and Peterborough and Bedford and some other destinations.
Also if you are traveling by train you could consider adding a plus bus (for sometimes only £1 more) to your train ticket which will give you a bus journey from the train station to the town centre.
