Age UK Northamptonshire is many things to many people – a source of advice, information, companionship and support. We provide a wide range of services to a growing number of older people, improving their quality of life, promoting independence and preventing frailty, poverty and isolation. Take a look at the videos to find out more about some of our services: Video one: Amy Shelton from Age UK Northamptonshire’s Collaborative Care Team explains some of the ways the local charity can support older people in the county, enabling them to live independently and make more of life. She mentions the Information & Advice Service that provides help with benefits claims and the day centres where older people can enjoy company, a hot meal and the opportunity to join in group activities with friends. Video two; Age UK Northamptonshire’s Trading Manager Roger Harris gives information about some of the practical services the charity provides in people’s homes. The Handyperson Service can fit key safes and window locks, for example. The Gardening Service takes the worry out of keeping the grass cut and hedges tidy. The Domestic Cleaning Service provides a reliable cleaner who is DBS checked and will help an older person look after their home, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Video three: Lifetime Activities Co-ordinator Jason Williams provides encouraging support that enables older people in Northamptonshire to stay active and enjoy regular exercise.
